This is the 19th year of CHITEC, the first Chinese state-level large-scale high-tech expo. The CHITEC has always enjoyed active participation and keen interest from domestic and foreign governments and related sectors including science and technology, industrial, and financial circles. The previous 18 sessions of CHITEC had a total of 4.995 million participants. They held more than one thousand forums around 208 specialized topics, with 5,074 well-known domestic and overseas scientists, economists, Nobel Prize winners, executives from the world’s top 500 enterprises and authoritative personnel from government departments delivering speeches. They held 205 promotion and negotiation activities for science, technology, economic, and trade and investment projects, with 111,000 domestic and foreign businessmen participating. The total value of agreements signed at the previous sessions of CHITEC reached 843.222 billion RMB. The CHITEC has become an iconic state-level platform for international exchange and cooperation where domestic and foreign high-tech and related industries display the latest technologies, disseminate advanced ideas, and harvest cooperative opportunities.
The CHITEC takes advantage of the capital’s unique geographical location and resources. With its new combination of exhibits, forums and business discussions it gathers domestic and international resources to effectively promote the commercialization, industrialization and internationalization of China’s science and technology achievements. It also encourages business transactions involving hi-tech achievements and international cooperation, which produce positive and far-reaching influence on the development of high-tech industries in China.
