7:00-9:30 Relish Zhouzhuang snacks

The well-known signature Zhouzhuang snacks including Qingtuanzi, a type of glutinous rice cake filled with sweetened bean paste, and Wadisu, a kind of flat, thin, crisp and oval-shaped pastry, impressed the visiting guests.

9:30-11:00 Twelve workshops

A group of craftsmen in Zhouzhuang are putting their masterful skills to work to prove they are a cut above the rest, in an era where it is often thought that mechanization prevails.

The participants observed these craftsmen at work at 12 workshops located on Zhenfeng Cultural Street, and some of them even learned to spin homespun, weave bamboo baskets and make tofu to experience the unique charm of handicrafts.
