The Xi'an comprehensive bonded zone will receive a pre-approval inspection by Xi'an customs and the Shaanxi Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. The formal check will be conducted by ten ministries in August.
The Xi'an comprehensive bonded zone was authorized by the State Council on Feb 14, 2011, covering an area of 6.17 square kilometers. Currently, the first phase of the Bonded Zone, namely the bonded logistics center, is operating well. A group of Fortune 500 companies involved in international trade, international logistics, declaration and inspection have settled in the zone. A wine import base has also taken shape.
By Arial 15 the zone has processed 2,435 customs brokerage businesses with an import and export value of about $759.82 million. In 2013, brokerage services totaled 286, with a value of $128.59 million, an increase of 17.44 percent over the same period last year. The logistics center saw revenues of 154.03 million yuan ($25 million).
In the first quarter of 2013, the Xi'an Bonded Zone collected revenues of 14.16 million yuan ($2.3 million). Two storehouses covering an area of 280 million square meters have almost been completely rented out.
The pre-approval area of the zone comprehensively upgrades the Xi'an Bonded logistics center, covering an area of 1.36 square kilometers. The zone's original comprehensive office buildings and other facilities have been built up and put into use.
The newly-built facilities, including fences, patrol roads and workshops, are under construction.
A fence measuring 6.03 kilometers and other isolation facilities have now been built up. Data rooms and other reconstruction projects will be finished by mid-April.
Other surveillance facility installations and adjustments will be completed before April 20.
Additionally, in order to complete supporting facilities for companies in the zone, office buildings, restaurants, hotels and other relevant projects are being financed out of the bonded zone. A total of 23,000 square meters of office buildings, 17,000 square meters of hotels and 8,000 square meters of restaurants will be put into use this year.
