Wenjiang's first Chinese chess tournament for government department employees kicked off on Oct 22, with more than 100 players, coaches and representatives attending the opening ceremony.
Tianfu sub-district, Wenjiang held a group of activities to celebrate the annual Double Ninth Festival, also known as the Chongyang Fesitival, which is the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. It especially signifies respect for seniors.
Wenjiang district recently held a flower fair catering to family gardening in Guanghua Park, inviting more than 300 enterprises to participate. The fair featured flowers, potted landscapes, flower and wood weaving, and premade flower arrangements.
A public square dancing show was held in Guang’an, Sichuan province on October 10, with the Wenjiang square dance team winning the first prize out of over 30 teams from all over the province.
An exhibition of achievements from children’s palaces of 15 rural schools was held in Wenjiang district, Chengdu on September 28, drawing 2,000 teachers and students.
The Wang Guangqi Literary Prize ceremony was held in Wenjiang district, Chengdu on Sept 29. Thirty-one works in seven different categories won the award.
