Traditional villages, home of both Chinese culture and memories, are vanishing at a fast rate. According to latest statistics, over 900,000 traditional villages disappeared over the decade, which means 1.6 traditional villages are vanishing each day on average in China.

He Wei, activist of traditional village protection and associate professor of Architecture Department at the Central Academy of Fine Art, explains the growing problem and offers solutions.
