BEIJING - China and Russia agreed to cooperate in developing Russia's Far East development zone during a meeting between vice premiers in Beijing Thursday.
"China is willing to actively participate in building the Far East development zone and expand China's mutually beneficial cooperation with the region to boost the economic and social development over the borders," Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang said.
China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has entered a new stage, Wang told his Russian counterpart Yury Trutnev, calling on both sides to implement the consensus reached between the state leaders and achieve more fruits from practical cooperation.
Yury Trutnev, also Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, briefed the Chinese side about the building of the Far East development zone and welcomed China's participation in this regard.
