Epicenter: 54 km southwest of the city of Coquimbo or about 400 km from Santiago, north-central Chile, at a depth of 10 km
Imapct: The quake caused buildings to sway in the capital Santiago and frightened people to run out into the streets.
Time: 5:15 pm (2015 GMT), Jan 30, 2013
Magnitude: 6.8 quake
Epicenter: 101 km southwest of the mining town Copiapo and 586 km or north of Santiago, central-northern Chile, at a depth of 45.7 km
Casualties: A woman died minutes later of an apparent heart attack as the quake shaked buildings as far away as Santiago. There were no reports of serious damage.
