PHNOM PENH - Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and his wife Geertrui Windels-Van Rompuy will make a three-day visit to Cambodia to boost ties and pay their last respects to recently deceased former King Norodom Sihanouk, according to a media statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The statement said that the official visit will start from Nov 2-4 at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
During the visit, Herman Van Rompuy will hold official talks with Hun Sen and pay a courtesy call on President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin.
On Nov 3, Van Rompuy and his wife will pay respect to late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk at the Royal Palace.
Besides, they will visit the National Museum, Toul Sleng Genocidal Museum and the world heritage Angkor Wat Temples in Siem Reap province.
