Little Erhei's Marriage tells a story which happens in a remote mountainous village of Shanxi province in 1942. In this village, militia head Little Erhei defeats enemies with resolute bravery, so he is awarded as a model sharpshooter. He falls in love with the villager girl Xiaoqin. Residents of the whole village feel happy for them. However, Erhei's father and Xiaoqin's mother strongly oppose to their marriage. Erhei's father is superstitious, who thinks his son should take a child bride according to the will of heaven. Xiaoqin's mother deliberately makes mystifying behavior to force Xiaoqin to marry the old rich man Wu Guangrong. At the same time, with evil intent for Xiaoqin, village ruffian Jin Wang takes the opportunity to incite and instigate, trying to break the relationship between Xiaoqin and Erhei. However, the young lovers are not intimidated by feudal arbitrary decision, and they make more resolute resistance.

Michael Korstick is an important German pianist of our time. His playing is documented on numerous award-winning CDs. Critics point out that the characteristic feature of his playing is the astonishing balance between brilliant virtuosity and musical intensity, reconciling strong individuality with uncompromising fidelity to the score. After no more than two years of piano lessons, the 11-year-old Michael Korstick received the first prize in the "Jugend musiziert" competition in his native city of Cologne and made his first public appearance at the age of 19. In 1974, he took master classes with the eminent Russian pianist Tatiana Nikolayeva and continued to work with her on many occasions during the following years. In 1976, the young pianist moved to the United States where he studied with Sascha Gorodnitzki, a pupil of the legendary Josef Lhevinne, as a scholarship student of the world-renowned Juilliard School for seven years.
