There is also a club in the Central Business District for high-level talent to socialize.

Members include leading companies in the city's major industries, NGOs, experts and overseas talent.

They can use all the cultural and sports facilities in the club and have discounts in some stores and healthcare centers in the city.

The club also hosts regular conferences, forums and trading fairs to help members expand their networks.

By October, the club had hosted n 136 events that attracted 5,774 visitors, according to the statement.

To find a "home" for the talent where they can achieve professional fulfillment is the crucial and most difficult part of talent recruitment, said an official from the Zhongshan Talent Bureau.

The municipal government has recently started a talent pool that involves choosing 100 people in three years to work in county-level regions in the city. This year, 30 people have already been sent to a range of sectors in regional governments. The city also has a human resource database showing proportion of recruited talent in different industries and sectors, as well as their employment trends.

Together with other governmental departments, the Zhongshan Talent Bureau will release a guiding plan for talent development every two years.

The plan covers the latest landscape in industries, the demand for talent of each industry and detailed profiles of talent. Known as a "talent map", it helps deliver the right people to each industry, said officials.

To further strengthen its economic backbone, Zhongshan offers different talent policies to different industries.

A range of talent recruitment projects are tailored to the needs of Tsuihang New Area, Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, two innovation hubs of the city, and Xiaolan town, famous for its economic growth.

For major industries such as equipment manufacturing, electronic information, pharmaceuticals and new materials, preferential policy measures allocate high-quality human resources to each.
