Beginning next year, the Space Expedition Corporation will offer daily commercial flights into space on the two-seater Lynx reusable spaceplane. Customers will get to view the planet Earth from over 100 kilometers up. For $95,000, the plane, which can operate from normal airports, offers people the chance to become astronauts. So far, 200 tickets have been sold.

For those who feel the price is a little out of their budget, Lynx is launching a competition to give one lucky person an opportunity to go where few people have gone before. The company is offering the chance to win an ultimate out-of-this-world experience: a trip to space. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin is funding the competition, which will see the winner of an open competition secure a spot on the space shuttle during its inaugural launch in 2014.

"Space travel for everyone is the next frontier in the human experience," Aldrin said, as he kicked off the competition in London.
