The Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Mr C Y Leung, attended a flag raising ceremony held in Golden Bauhinia Square at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Wan Chai on October 1st, China's National Day. This was followed by a reception held at the same venue and hosted by Mr Leung. In the evening the city celebrated with a fireworks display across the harbor.
