Indonesia is playing an increasingly important role in the 2015 integration goals of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
During Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Indonesia in late April 2011, Wen said China and Indonesia should accelerate multilateral trade and economic cooperation by making full use of ASEAN's preferential free trade policies. Both countries want enhanced bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, finance, infrastructure, energy, agriculture and other sectors.
China Daily reporter Huang Shuo interviewed Imron Cotan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to China, on the China-Indonesia relationship and related topics.
