Global think tanks meet in Beijing

The first Global Think Tank Summit opens here in Beijing on July 2. During the 2-day agenda from Friday, close to 100 top-notch think tanks from all over the world will be sharing ideas on issues concerning the world economy and the global financial crisis.

Great minds presented at the opening ceremony includes Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE that sponsors the summit, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Chairman of the Brookings Board of Trustees John Thornton and many other intellectuals, officials, scholars, and economists from all over the world.

"This Global Think Tank Summit is held amid a global financial recession and the crisis is still spreading and deepening. It is of great significance that great minds from different countries, academic institutions, international organizations and multinational enterprises can get together to discuss topics concerning the global financial crisis, and the sound development of the world economy,"said Li Keqiang.

The theme of the summit is "sharing mankind wisdom, seeking global development". It comprises a major forum and five sub-forums, and will be held in both Chinese and English.
