SHENYANG - A high-speed rail link between Dandong, China's largest border city, and Shenyang city, in Northeast China's Liaoning province, will open in August 2015, authorities said on Thursday.
The line, over 207 kilometers, allows speeds of up to 250 km per hour. Construction began in March 2010.
The journey currently takes 3 hours and 35 minutes. The high-speed link will shorten the time to only one hour.
Dandong is a prefecture-level city facing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the Yalu River, which serves as the China-DPRK border post.
