Chinese President Xi Jinping mentioned a song performed at this year's Spring Festival Gala, Where Has the Time Gone, when he talked about his hobbies in an interview that aired Saturday in Russia.
"I love reading, movies, traveling and strolling. But you know, I barely have my own time as president. There was a song called Where Has the Time Gone during the Spring Festival Gala in China. As for me, the question is where my own time has gone. Of course it has been spent on my work," Xi told Rossiya TV in the exclusive interview.

Serious illness insurance to cover all
Pilot programs that enable people with serious illnesses to get more compensation from medical insurance plans should be launched in all the country's provincial-level regions by the end of June this year.
The new move aims to reduce the number of people reduced to poverty by the burden of medical fees, according to a statement issued by the Medical Reform Office of the State Council on Saturday.

Shanghai (10) moved into the top 10 list of most fashionable cities in the world, up 12 spots from 2012, according to new research released by the Global Language Monitor (GLM), an Austin-based data-research company that catalogues trends in word usage.
Asia was well represented with Tokyo (11), Singapore (19) and Hong Kong (20) in the top 20.
GLM's rankings track the Internet, blogs, and news and social media to see what is being said about cities.

Street interview: family tradition
In a street interview themed around family style and culture arranged by China Central Television (CCTV) during Spring Festival, reporters questioned many citizens randomly and found some interesting answers on the issue. According to Wu Jing, a recent bride born after 1985, "I will spend the money my husband earns." The sentiment adheres to the traditional idea of a domestic wife and social husband, Hsb.hsw.cn reported.
Some family traditions that are passed down include filial piety and tolerance.

Gun discharges, kills security guard
A security guard for Guangzhou Sui Bao Escort & Convoy Co surnamed Deng, 27, from Zhaoqing, Guangdong province, was killed when his gun discharged accidentally after he bent over to pick up his phone during the company's recent mission on Saturday, Xkb.com.cn reported.
Deng has a 5-month-old daughter. The case is under investigation.
New town govt office illegal
Li Xinren, Party secretary of Yandong township, and Yu Rong, head of Yandong township government, Yancheng city, Jiangsu province, were suspended pending an inquiry by the city's discipline inspection commission into a new 10-floor government office building that was built illegally, violating the rules issued by the provincial general office, Dz.xdkb.net reported.
The office was officially opened on Jan 1, 2014. At most 120 permanent staff workers in town government departments have moved out of the building, which covers thousands of square meters, after staying in the office for only 20 days. The case was reported by local residents.

Banquet honors the elderly
A charity banquet was held for around 1,300 elderly people over 60 in Luocun village, Nanhai, Guangdong province, on Saturday. The oldest attendee was 105, and the party included a Guangdong opera and a big feast including over 20 vegetables, Xkb.com.cn reported.
"The Banquet of 1,000 Elderly People" began in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to show concern and respect for the elderly.
