This sprawling forest is a favorite among day-trippers from Tokyo. It is also one of the country's most popular destinations for the suicidal - and growing more popular. The high rate of suicide at the forest has led officials to place signs in the forest, urging people thinking of taking their own lives to seek help. One of the signs at the forest warns "Your life is a precious gift from your parents. Once again, try to remember your parents, brothers and sisters and think about your children."
