'Haunted house' in Beijing: Chaonei No. 81

Since the release of the Chinese 3D thriller The House That Never Dies, a soaring number of amateur adventurers have rushed to Chaoyangmennei Street in Beijing's downtown area to see the Chanonei No. 81 building, which inspired the 3D thriller. According to local legend, the mansion is haunted by a ghost.

Adventurers are banned from entering the building. Officials say it has nothing to do with the thriller and that it's reputation as a haunted house is nothing but a rumor. The structure is not stable, so visitors are not allowed to wander insie.

Although the building is closed, the front gate is still packed with curious visitors. Some of them even scale the wall to get inside at nights and once there, scream to make the place appear more "haunted".
