DPRK: Kerry's remarks part of US 'hostile policy'

PYONGYANG -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday refuted US Secretary of State John Kerry's recent remarks terming the country an "evil place," saying they are "another vivid expression of the US hostile policy toward the DPRK."

A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry dismissed the remarks as no more than "a manifestation of (Kerry's) frustration and outbursts," adding that Kerry should be aware that "no pressure is workable on the DPRK."

"The United States, in disregard of international law, had better ponder over itself before blaming others, as it commits horrible genocide in various parts of the world under the signboard of 'liberty' and 'democracy,'" the spokesman was quoted by the official KCNA news agency as saying.

He added that no problem can be solved as long as the United States persists in its "hostile policy" toward the DPRK, claiming the DPRK people are enjoying the country's "people-first principle" and love from top leader Kim Jong Un.

In an interview with MSNBC television on Wednesday, Kerry described the DPRK as an "evil place."
