"Shenhua contacted Ronaldo and his team after the end of last La Liga season," revealed Soccer News on Thursday.

"And if his contract extension (with Real) is delayed, it is definitely possible for Shenhua to land Ronaldo after the transfer window opens next year."

Oriental Sports Daily reported on July 5 that Zhu Jun, the major investor in the club could bring another mega star to the team.

Coincidentally, Sky Italia TV earlier made a list of ten clubs targeting the "sad" forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who said he did not feel support from the dressing room.

Shenhua is listed as one of the potential buyers.

Many believe Ronaldo is simply pursuing a bigger offer from Real, though he denied it in a statement on Wednesday.

Shenhua is reportedly in a stakes rift, which has impacted the future of its players. Nicolas Anelka missed the team's practice on Wednesday and the team gave no explanation.

With two years left in Ronaldo's contract with the Real, he earns 15 million euros after tax, and his transfer fee is estimated to be no less than 90 million euro. If Zhu Jun really wants to land the world-class forward, he will spend more than 1 billion RMB on the blockbuster deal, media analysts said.
