BUDAPEST - China placed first in two of the five individual and team events at the 12th Military and Police Sniper World Cup in Budapest on Tuesday.
In the military individual category, Wang Zhanjun of China scored a winning 1062 points. China's Zhang Yong scored 1050 points for second while Oleg Polischak of Ukraine was third on 1023 points.
Wang and Zhang also won the military team event with a combined score of 2112 points. Vasily Marudenko and Aliaksandr Kaliada of Belarus, and Polischak and Oleksandr Dzhura of Ukraine shared the second place with the identical score of 1952.
Alexey Baraev of Russia won the police individual event with 1104 points, the highest score in the entire competition. Baraev's winning score also earned him a second top spot as best overall individual shooter. China's Chen Jun came second with 1064 points, while Vasyl Kovalov of Ukraine placed third on 1033 points.
Baraev and Dmitriy Perkov of Russia also won the police team category with a score of 2002 points. Denys Volochaiev and Yurii Muzyka of Ukraine came second while Chen Jun and Zhang Hao of China finished third.
The 3-day competition attracted 152 participants from 20 countries.
