An annual folk festival in the city of Nanning, in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of China, has been bringing in singers and artists from around the world, over a 13-year span of time, to provide a special mix of ethnic customs, international vision, and a modern style.
The Consulate District of Nanning, the capital of China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, provides a place where the city can increase cooperation with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"Every year in Nanning, the city is different and it has been changing at an extraordinarily rapid rate year by year," said Too Lai Huat, a Chinese Malaysian
The Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum, which serves to increase collaboration with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members, opens tomorrow in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi region, and runs through Aug 19.
"When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of studying in China," said Cambodian Chea Sokna, who is now enrolled in the administrative management program at Guangxi University for Nationalities.
