Antonio (Mexico)
I live in Mexico City and I use the women-only metro every day. I do not think that such a thing is necessary, but in a crowded carriage at peak-hour I do not have to worry about somebody groping, I only worry about keeping my balance and not missing my stop. Enforcement is lax, but people usually respect the designated areas.

I’ve lived in China for quite a considerable time including my graduate school years, travelled and worked in a few cities and still choose my destination taking into consideration the density of smog or PM2.5 particulate matter in the region.
