Women-only police patrol popular with residents

A special women-only police patrol is popular with residents in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province.

The 14-member patrol is the first of its kind in the city based at the Huayuanlu police substation in Jinshui district.

They help residents with simple things and can access handheld notebook computers and other advanced equipment.

Meanwhile, the officers sometimes act as bodyguards by escorting people who need to transport large sums of money from banks.
