China has impressed the world with its dazzling economic growth and fast development, and by becoming the world's second largest economy. That's why the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is drawing worldwide attention, says an article in France-based World News. Excerpts:
Under the CPC's leadership, China has achieved unprecedented economic success and enhanced its influence in the international community. China has not only overcome the Asian financial crisis and the international financial crisis, but also improved its legal system and strengthened the rule of law. More importantly, China is open to suggestions on its development and governance from abroad.
China's political system has gradually developed after decades of trials and practices, though it is different from Western democracy or the classical political structure that stresses the importance of the separation of the three arms of governance: the legislature, executive and the judiciary.
And under the CPC's leadership, China has built a national social security network that guarantees almost all senior citizens and farmers pension and medical care.
