A glimpse into Dongba culture

An exhibition highlighting the Dongba Culture of the Naxi ethnic group opened at Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 20, Baotou Daily reported on Aug 24.
Co-hosted by Baotou Museum and Lijiang Museum (Yunnan province), the one-month exhibition will help to educate northerners on the Dongba culture, housing displays on the sacrificial offering ceremonies of the Dongba religion, and the customs and manners of the Dongba culture.
Dongba refers to priests of the Naxi ethnic group who inhabit Yunnan province in Southwest China, and who are masters of traditional culture, literature and Dongba symbols. The Dongba Culture is said to have been passed on by the Dongbas who integrated Dongba characters, Dongba scriptures, Dongba paintings, Dongba dance and music.
