The 19th rock music festival of Cangyuan Va autonomous county, Yunnan province, was held from Aug 3 to 5, to the enthusiastic delight of its audiences.
The spectators enjoyed wonderful performances by the Cangyuan and Myanmar’s Va ethnic singers and a European hard rock band in the zone's Hulu town.
Thirteen bands took part in the activity, which featured frequent audience participation and included a beer-drinking competition.
The powerful rhythm of the Va nationality singers' live show was a climax of the event. Hulu town is a tourism town of Cangyuan county, occupying an area of 26,026 square meters. It was dedicated by Yunnan province's Lincang city in 2013 and rated as an “AA” tourist attraction in 2015.
The town's architecture retains the unique characteristics of Va ethnic dwellings, such as red arc-shaped roofs decorated by crisscrossing lines.
The festival intends to fully celebrate the Va people’s culture and demonstrate their music's charm. It also aims to be a symbolic festival representing all of Cangyuan Va autonomous county.
