Kunming to host ASEAN culture expo

The city of Kunming, Yunnan province will open the 2015 ASEAN Culture Expo on Dec 4, for both culture and tourism, with a variety of activities, including an ASEAN Tourism Program Promotion, ASEAN Photography Contest, and DPRK Stone and Drawing Trade Fair.
Some of the exotic products on display for the first time include Malaysia tin products, Bardi wax, Nepali thangkas, and folk culture products from South Korea, along with traditional crafts such as Pakistani bronze ware, wood products, polished lacquer paintings, Thai silverware and rattan articles.
It will also have an exhibition area for domestic works of art and characteristic products such as Jingdezhen porcelain and ceramics, Yixing purple clay, and Chinese calligraphy and there will be a special area for Yunnan industries to show its teas, jewelry, and tourism souvenirs.
This expo will be held every year for three years and is expected to have an influence across East and Southeast Asia and to connect the south to ASEAN markets and promote the economic development of Yunnan and ASEAN.
