Dream Tengchong Cultural Development Co. Ltd., sponsored by the Yunnan provincial government, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yunnan Cultural Investment Group, a major cultural enterprise managed by the Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee.

In 2009, the company invested 30 million yuan in a tourist promotional event called Tengchong Dream, which was produced with the aim of attracting more visitors to the county of Tengchong. Tengchong Dream consists of a show which was first performed on January 1, 2010, and then started to be performed on a regular basis on February 23. A total of over 400, 000 people have enjoyed the show, which has earned revenue of over 30 million yuan.
