All ethnic groups in Yunnan are good at singing and dancing. The Dai people's peacock dance, Wa people's wooden drum dance and Yi people's left foot dance all are famous for their individual characteristics.

The minority people's folk songs also offer a unique musical experience. In recent years, Yunnan has seen its art performance industry boom. There are a group of excellent art shows that feature Yunnan elements, such as Dynamic Yunnan, Lishui Golden Sands and Yunnan Voice.

In particular, Dynamic Yunnan took the world by storm in 2004 and set a box office record. Many domestic singers are also growing popular with domestic audiences, and some have even won national singing competitions.

Yunnan has also encouraged the cultural industry to go global. In the recent years, there have been more than 500 art troupes and 20,000 artists that performed in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide to promote Yunnan's ethnic culture.
