The Wudang Mountains of Shiyan, Hubei province, and Tongzhou district, Beijing, hosted a forum on the South-North water diversion project in the Wudang Mountains on Dec 12. The two sides signed a strategic agreement at the forum.

Cui Zhicheng, member of the district standing committee, appreciated the development and the ecological environment of Wudang. Cui voiced his wish to strengthen cooperation with Wudang in hygiene, education, culture and tourism.

Wudang would learn from Tongzhou's experiences in city planning, infrastructure construction and tourism promotion. In addition, the Wudang Mountains should step up efforts in water protection, according to Ke Xisheng, deputy secretary of the Wudang Party working committee.
The middle-route project of the South-North water diversion project was launched on Dec 12.
