Wudang photography festival unveils winter works

A selection of winter works for the Wudang International Photography Festival has been completed in Beijing. A total of 200 photographs stand out from more than 16,000 pictures after two rounds of judging.
The selection is co-organized by the China Photographers Association, the Wudang Mountains scenery administration bureau and Taichi Lake Group. It consists of four sections divided by seasons.

There are five award entries under each section, including the landscape of the Wudang Mountains, Taichi Lake scenery, the people and culture of Wudang, group works and creative works. The prize for the top award is 100,000 yuan ($17,000), while second-prize winners will be awarded 30,000 yuan each. A bonus for third prize and the recognition award are 10,000 yuan and 1,000 yuan, respectively.
The collection of winter works, titled “Wintry Charm of Wudang,” began Jan 4, 2014, and ended April 1. More than 900 photographers from over 20 provinces nationwide came to the Wudang Mountains to take pictures for the selection.
The judging panel of the event is composed of Wang Yao, chairman of the China Photographers Association; Zeng Xingming, chief editor of China Photo Press; Cheng Xinhua, member of the Wudang special zone working committee and chair of the local photographers association; and famous photographers Yang Dazhou and Tan Ming.
