Wudang Mountains, located in the southeast of Shiyan city, Hubei province, is known as the cradle of Taoist culture, and was named one of the Top 10 Summer Resorts in China.
The emperors regarded the temple at Wudang as a royal temple, and Wudang Taoist music is closely related to royal music. The chanting of Taoist scripture is an essential part of the daily rituals of Taoist priests, and visitors can enjoy the music and experience a spiritual moment.
Famous mountains in China are usually associated with famous local teas, and Wudang is no exception. Unlike other kinds of tea, which are usually picked in spring, the Taoist tea of Wudang Mountains must be plucked in the sixth and seventh months of the Chinese lunar calendar, during the height of summer.
Visitors who travel to Wudang Mountains in the summer will thus have the opportunity to taste local fresh picked tea.
