At the opening ceremony for the first “national tourism network in Hubei” activity on July 8, the results of an online poll for the most beautiful scenic area were announced. The Wudang Mountains scenic area was voted as the most beautiful scenic area in Hubei province.
The Wudang Mountains scenic area boasts the largest religious architectural complex in the world, the largest artificial lake (Tai Chi Lake) in Asia, and a world-famous natural wonder known as the 72 peaks.
The Wudang Mountains scenic area has been working to build a world-class eco-cultural tourist attraction. In recent years, the transportation and infrastructure of the scenic area has been improved.
New scenic highways, parking lots and plank roads have been constructed; the security system, ticketing system, and ticket checking system have been updated; and stores and restaurants in the scenic area have been redecorated. The Wudang Mountains scenic area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is honored as one of the 10 most welcome scenic areas among European tourists.
Accordingly, the poll results also included other tourism brands in Hubei, such as the most honest travel agency, the most comfortable hotel, the top 10 restaurants and the top 10 places for river drifting.
