The Annual Meeting of Chinese Traditional Culture and I Ching, also known as the Wudang I Ching Summit Forum, will take place on August 7 and run for two days in Wudang Hotel, Shiyan city, Hubei province.
The meeting is one of the celebration activities for Wudang Mountain's 600th Anniversary since the mountain’s overhaul by Emperor Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The celebration has been held for five consecutive years and has won the recognition of I Ching scholars.
The forum aims to provide a platform for Chinese and foreign I Ching scholars to communicate and exchange ideas and to promote I Ching culture to the outside world. "I Ching and Life" is the theme of the forum. Highlights of this year's meeting include a themed speech and tours to the Golden Hall, the Nanyan Palace and the Purple Heaven Palace.
The "I Ching", also known as the "Classic of Changes", "Book of Changes" or "Zhouyi", is one of the oldest classic Chinese texts. The book contains a divination system which is similar to Western geomancy. It is the belief that arranging your house, tomb, or other things in a particular way will bring you good or bad luck.
