The National Teenagers' Outdoor Sports Campsite Exhibition was held at Wuxishanse Hotel from July 23 to 25, 2012. The exhibition drew in 300 teenage athletes from 25 provinces along with their coaches and teachers.
The activities, themed "Love Sports, Embrace Sunshine and Experience Happiness", consisted of four parts, including competition, experimenting, campsite exhibition and forum communication. During the event, the young athletes took part in eight games at the outdoor exercise base of the hotel, namely the 100-meter hurdles, rock climbing, and orienteering among others. They also watched the bonfire show and made Jiuhua silk fans with jade ribs, a provincial intangible heritage.
The hotel made deliberate arrangements and held a preparation meeting to ensure the reception work was done appropriately. The outdoor sports center carefully checked the equipment; the food center made special cuisine for diverse customers; and the security guards toured day and night to ensure security. A large amount of sunstroke prevention medicines were also prepared.
"This is a beautiful place which conforms to the theme of the exhibition. We are very satisfied with the service and amenities of the hotel," a group leader said.
This exhibition has been held once in Jilin province and once in Zhejiang province. It is an innovative activity aimed at encouraging teenagers to go outdoors and get closer to nature, as well as bring new energy into the national body-building program.
The activity is sponsored by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Ministry of Education and is co-sponsored by the Anhui sports bureau, Anhui education department and municipal government of Chizhou city.
