Mount Wudang boosts tourism to record high in first four months

In the first four months of 2012, Mount Wudang scenic area received 1.42 million Chinese and foreign tourists, up 36.6 percent. They created 758 million yuan ($119.9 million) in tourism revenues, up 41.2 percent.
The scenic area admitted large numbers of tourists during the long holidays. For the Tomb-sweeping Day holidays, it received 34,000 tourists, up 60.05 percent. It yielded 17 million yuan ($2.69 million) in tourism revenues, up 54 percent. On the May 1 holiday, it received 69,000 tourists, up 4.4 percent. It created 45 million yuan ($7.12 million) in tourism revenues, up 7.5 percent. On April 21, the tourism area received 15,000 tourists, a record high for non-holidays.
