Wudang ushers tourism record on Tomb-Sweeping day

The Wudang scenic area enjoyed good spring weather during the Tomb-Sweeping day holiday on April 2-4.
The scenic area has received approximately 75,000 visitors, an increase of 6.8 percent from the same period last year. Tourism revenues totaled 39.15 million yuan, a 6.86 percent rise, which is a new record.
Tourist numbers reached 938,000 during spring, a year-on-year increase of 62.9 percent.
2012 is the 600 year-old birthday for the village, a series of tourism promotion activities themed, "Wudang greatly develops in 600 years" started in March and marketed nationwide.
The upcoming Ninth Chinese Photography Festival and the Second Wudang International Photographic Competition Awards Ceremony will be held in Wudang in May.
Other events such as the Fourth World Taichiquan and Health Conference, the Tenth China Wudang International Tourism Festival, Chinese Mountains of Taoist Association and World Cultural Heritage Forum, will be organized here as well.
