In addition to the wonderful Wudang martial arts performance, a special wedding was held for two couples in the Purple Heaven Palace. It attracted a lot of visitors.
The two couples were from the United States.
The Palace has become the home of a grand Taoist rite for the blessing of newly-weds. More than 100 martial arts lovers and tourists witnessed the happy moment.
“Wudang Mountain is one of the most sacred, divine and wonderful place in the world. I am honored to come here and learn about Wudang Taoist culture,” said the groom. “I feel like I’m reaching closer to divinities in having my wedding here”.
“I feel proud to come here. I am a serious Taoist practitioner. I come here to seek my roots as my roots are based here,” said the bride with tears of joy.
“Coming here feels like having returned to my home. It is a new start to my life in having my wedding here. I will seek to improve myself.”
“I am very happy. My heart is singing, and I am full of gratitude to Wudang Mountain and this tournament.”
The bride wore red clothes, a gift from friends. She was told that wearing red meant that she looked jubilant.
Zeng Yongxiang, the couples’ master and president of Sino-US Culture Exchange Promotion Society, said he was proud to bring the couples here to have the wedding. It was a solemn and sacred event in this Taoist holy land.
He also said the ceremony would draw the souls of the newly-weds closer.
