The 2018 Shanxi Fencing Championship opened in Taiyuan on Nov 3.
More than 200 members of 10 fencing clubs in the province and 35 athletes from six local cities took part in the two-day competition which included individual and group contests.
Entries were divided into six categories including U8, U16 and adult, with groups rivaling each other with epees. The event was held at a shopping mall in the city, with hopes of making fencing known to more people and promoting the sport.
