The awards ceremony for the first Wutai Mountain Global Short Film Competition was recently held at Mount Wutai scenic area in Xinzhou city, Shanxi province, on Sept 26.
Following six months of collection and selection, 92 short films were awarded a total of 50 prizes for categories including dramas, documentaries and animation. The competition received more than 1,000 entries.
Film directors, actors and film production teams from more than 30 provinces and cities in China and five countries, including Canada, South Korea, Malaysia and Hungary, took part in the event which aimed to find young talent in the film industry and provide individuals with exposure to a wider audience.
