The first Yangquan Cultural Industry (Product) Trade Show took place in Yangquan, North China’s Shanxi province on Sept 7.
The exhibition lasted for 10 days until Sept 16, targeting at accelerating the development of Yangquan’s culture industry and promoting the city’s culture brands through exhibitions, symposiums and mach-making meetings.
During the event, an exhibition showcasing artworks and traditional cultural craftsmanship of Yangquan was also held, housing exhibits from coal carvings, purple clay wares, dough sculptures, paper cuttings, root carvings and sand painting to ornaments.
Yangquan, located towards the east of Shanxi, is reputed for its rich coal and iron resources. In the recent years, the culture industry has witnessed significant growth as the city is experiencing transformation and upgrading of its traditional industries.
By the end of 2017, there were 1,122 culture businesses in Yangquan, providing services involving industrial art, internet culture, entertainment, performances, artwork management, printing, publication, radio broadcasting and cultural creativity. The whole industry created 12,000 job opportunities.
