Plate held by a woman standing on the back of an ox

This piece is 14.5 cm tall, 18 cm long, 14 cm in diameter, and weighs 1.38 kg. It was unearthed in the city of Changzhi, in 1965. It consists of a divine animal with head high and ears erect, with a woman on top, with her hair hanging down and hands reaching, holding a post, on the top of which is a pierced movable plate with poisonous snake patterns. This utensil is remarkable for the ingenuity of its design, elegant style, resplendent patterns, and consummate craftsmanship which reflect the technological level of bronze ware during the Warring States.
