The Yellow River Bridge on the Yuncheng-Lingbao Highway had its two main sections connected in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, on June 20.
The 1,690-meter bridge features a two-way six-lane design and is a key bridge linking Yuncheng in Shanxi and Lingbao in Henan province, as well as being a vital part of the Hohhot-Beihai highway network.
The bridge, which has received investment of 965 million yuan ($148.48 million), is designed for vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. It is expected to be completed in October 2018.
Once put into service, the bridge will help advance the development of modern logistics in Yuncheng city, improve ties between Shanxi and Henan provinces, and promote Shanxi's trade and transport links with the central China region.
