The 2018 Shanxi Vocational Education Activity Week kicked off in Shanxi Vocational and Technical College of Transportation on May 6.
The second week of May during every year was approved by the State Council as the “Vocational Education Activity Week” in April 2015.
It’s a platform for students to display skills, improve social influence and attraction of vocational education.
This year’s Shanxi activity week attracted the participation of students and teachers from 20 vocational colleges.
Li Qingshan, vice president of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, said that vocational education should be one of the priorities to improve the province’s education quality.
Currently, Shanxi has a total of 535 vocational colleges providing 3,230 skill training courses covering all the economic and social development sectors of the province. Meanwhile, the average employment rate of Shanxi’s vocational colleges reached 84.8 percent.
