More than 30 social organizations, undergraduate eco-protection associations and companies in Shanxi province promoted Earth Hour on March 22 to appeal to the public to protect the environment.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature. The annual event encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour on a specific day towards the end of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.
Earth Hour 2018 in Shanxi will fall on March 24, from 20:30 to 21:30. The event will be organized online and offline in the hope of encouraging people to develop environmentally-friendly habits.
