Linfen city in Shanxi province held a summit on green development of atmospheric environment from Oct 12 to 14, seeking ideas on low carbon development and aiming to further the city's environmental improvements.
Experts and scholars in the field of environmental protection, representatives of some 10 foreign-funded companies and more than 30 domestic companies focused on "green China and protecting the blue sky" and put forward solutions to Linfen city's air pollution.
Chai Fahe, former vice-dean of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, said that Linfen should now focus on controlling sulfur dioxide emissions based on its current needs.
In the light of heavy light pollution in the city, Wang Tongzhou, general manager of China Energy Conservation And Environmental Protection Group, gave his opinion, stating "Environmental protection is a special project. Environmental problems like air pollution, environmental pollution and energy safety are the same in essence and it's necessary to conduct comprehensive management."
An international anti-air pollution technology expo was also conducted. More than 50 companies exhibited eco-friendly technologies and facilities at the expo, consisting of seven parts, such as emission reduction technologies for vehicles, clean energy for heating, and technical equipment for recycling and handling of industrial waste gas.
