Designs selected for the emblem, theme song, mascot, slogan and poster of the second National Youth Games were on display in Taiyuan on Aug 23.
In May 2017, the preparatory committee of the second National Youth Games invited the public to contribute ideas for the event. The designs were required to show the spirit of sports and Shanxi culture as well as focus on the theme of the event.
Four hundred and three emblems, 87 theme songs, 205 mascots, 1,975 slogans and 38 posters were collected, with 6 emblems, 6 theme songs, 6 mascots, 20 slogans and 10 posters selected.
The preparatory committee will review those selected and publicize the final results. A 50,000 yuan ($7,503.84) award will be given for each of the adopted emblem and mascot designs. The reward for the theme song will be 20,000 yuan.
The second National Youth Games will open in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province in August 2019. They will consist of 305 events in 26 major sports and are expected to attract more than 8,000 athletes in 55 delegations.
