A train departed Linfen, Shanxi province loaded with precision castings for Germany on July 28.

Setting out from Fanglue International Bonded Inland Port, the train will travel some 10,000 kilometers to Munich, arriving around 18 days later –– some 30 days shorter than by sea.

The loaded precision castings, manufactured by Shanxi Huaxiang Group, were put in 74 containers which were carried in the train's 41 cars. The exports will be provided for 10 manufacturers of commercial and agricultural products in France, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy.

"Linfen will further partnerships with European businesses and develop the rail line into a railway connecting China and Europe, promoting trade between both sides," said Liu Yuqiang, mayor of Linfen.

The launch of the Linfen-Munich train will help eliminate the bottleneck of foreign trade companies in Linfen and advance the city’s opening up process.
