Shanxi's first test center for the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) was sited at the Qihang Branch of Taigu No 2 Middle School in Taigu county on July 10.
The test center will arrange exams and study programs for Shanxi students specific to their needs, according to an agreement signed between the school and Higher Education Examination Center authorized by Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).
Students can take part in Main Suite Examinations without sitting IELTS tests to apply for middle schools, universities and colleges in the United Kingdom.
TKT is a professional and authoritative qualification targeted at teachers of English as a foreign language, focusing on helping teachers improve their abilities in teaching theories, methods, and practical skills in English.
Currently, the Higher Education Examination Center has set up test centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The establishment of the Shanxi test center will provide extra convenience for teachers and students in the province.
